ESPN- Former four-division world titleholder Adrien Broner kept his promise and turned himself in to police in his hometown of Cincinnati on Monday morning. Broner was wanted on two warrants for his arrest on charges of felony assault and aggravated robbery in connection with an incident during the early-morning hours of Jan. 21.He is accused of assaulting a man and robbing him of $12,000 at gunpoint outside a bowling alley. Broner allegedly lost the money to the victim during a night of high-stakes betting on bowling games, knocked him unconscious outside the bowling alley after a confrontation and took the money.
Rough week for Adrien. First the guy didn’t make weight and lost his belt, even though he defeated Ashley Theophane Saturday. Then after the win, he calls out the big dog Floyd Mayweather, only to be mocked and turned into a laughingstock by the boxing world. (Not sure if it was a April Fools joke but I like to think it was real) Now the guy turned himself in on felony assault and aggravated robbery charges.
Must be nice to be a degenerate and a professional fighter though. Just throwing down 12k on some games at the AMF, smoking cigs, having some fun. If you win, hey its 12k in your pocket. If you lose, just knock the guy out and take the money back. Win/win situation…. until you get caught.
